Team GearJunkie.com took 3rd place in the four-person division at this weekend’s MNOC Adventure Race in southern Minnesota, an annual competition that’s one of my personal favorite events of the year. The course included about six miles of orienteering (running), a “creek walk” up a shallow whitewater river, a few miles of road biking, a six-mile paddle in inflatable kayaks, singletrack mountain biking, and navigation on multiple maps all throughout.

Left to right, Team GearJunkie.com is Stephen Regenold, T.C. Worley, Stephanie Leibke, and Stanley Barton

We started the race at 9am and crossed the finish line after 3pm, coming in second place. But an unintentionally missed checkpoint on the mountain bike cost us a 15-minute penalty, and thus dropped us to 3rd overall. A good race nonetheless for the debut of Team GearJunkie.com!
