In a letter addressed to all “Ultra cycling participants worldwide,” Anna Catharina Berge and Paul Skilbeck have made a call for the establishment of an international organization for the sport of ultra cycling.

During the past decade, the letter reports, the world has seen a steady growth in the number of ultra cycling
events and participants. The indicators are that this growth will continue, which gives rise to the notion that the time is right for a “new world order in this sport.”

Berge and Skilbeck hope to bring together a group of ultra cyclists for two days in a Committee of National Ultra Cycling Directors in late August or October, 2007, to discuss specific matters related to the organization of ultra cycling at the international level. Contact Mr. Skilbeck here—pskilbeck@o2sm.com—for more information.
