[leadin]This is one ridiculously unique opportunity for someone with, honestly, not all that much money.[/leadin]

Soldier Mountain

For the price of a very mediocre condo in most cities in the U.S., you can be owner of Soldier Mountain in Idaho.

As reported by Soldier Mountain’s Facebook page:

The price is real. This is all we owe to our bank for the last 3 years of improvements and operations. As a non-profit we only sell for the debt owed against the business.

We WERE under contract with Magic Mountain, with a closing end of August, no funds have transferred and WINTER is coming. We need to make public the fact we are still for sale.  Any questions about premature selling of passes associated with Magic Mountain, need to be directed to Magic Mountain.

So here is your chance to own a SKI MOUNTAIN! Get your buddies together and make a dream happen. The price is right and the forecast for a wet winter is on the horizon!!

Soldier Mountain operates under a special use permit by the US Forest Service on the Sawtooth National Forest under the USDA. So you won’t be buying the land.

You will, however, own everything associated with the facility. Lifts, buildings, rental shop, bar, restaurant, kitchen, vehicles, snow machines, maintenance shop, and tools.

Soldier Mountain was developed after two friends visited nearby Sun Valley in 1947 to watch the Olympic team tryouts. The first chairlift was installed in 1971 and a second was added in 1974.

Actor Bruce Willis purchased the mountain in the late 1990s. In Spring 2012, Willis donated the mountain to the recently formed 501[c]3 non-profit, Soldier Mountain Ski Area, Inc.

Soldier has 1,150 acres of variable alpine terrain, including a terrain park, glades, bowls, and tree skiing. Soldier Mountain also operates the only cat skiing operation in South-Central Idaho.

Soldier Mountain

This is not a huge mountain. Its longest lift has 876 feet of vertical incline.

But if you have $150,000 and want to be the proud owner of your own ski area, here’s your chance. For more info, contact info@soldiermountain.com.
