Candide Thovex is a legend. That isn’t debatable. But what’s even more impressive nowadays isn’t which athletes you’ll find in the upper echelons of freeskiing, their various stunts, or skills. (OK, maybe.) It’s their consistency to always attempt and pull off wild lines with form that resembles perfection, time after time.

The French skier Candide has made a name for himself when it comes to massive jumps and big air POV ski videos. I mean, have you ever seen the guy crash? No way.

Now, keep in mind, he’s 41. Is he slowing down? Hell, no. Could he outski most of us any day? Yeah. But this 30-second clip of him overshooting a landing on a jump in Tignes, France, just goes to show you that even the pros aren’t perfect all the time.

So, what’s better than watching the crazy misstep, which has garnered 83K views in 23 hours? Watching the grace with which Candide picks himself up and skis off. The legendary skier seems unfazed by the 53-plus-meter slam into the snow.
