The responsibilities of parenting don’t have to hold you back from the adventure life. Just ask world record-holder Benedikt Böhm.
According to Böhm, he’s gotten “more cautious” in the mountains since becoming a father. Suffice it to say, increased caution hasn’t disrupted the Dynafit general manager’s world-class skimo abilities.
In October 2019, Böhm raced to a ski touring record on Nepal’s Dhaulagiri 7 (23,772 feet), linking base camp to summit to base camp in 7 hours, 53 minutes. The peak is remote, and the circuit is massive — one-way elevation gain is 7,600 feet. Now, the full film documenting his feat is here.
Watch Böhm through the whole experience as he acclimatizes, practices, executes (with great effort), and, finally, comes full circle — back to his kids in the Bavarian Alps.
