Giro teamed up with one of the most renowned guitar brands on Earth to make ski goggles that will rock you like a hurricane.
You can’t take your electric guitar or amplifier out for a day on the slopes. Well … you could. But it would be cumbersome and awkward, and it probably wouldn’t end well — for you or your instruments.
Luckily, this ski season, the legendary guitar and amp maker Fender partnered with cycling and snow specialist Giro to provide skiers and boarders with the next best option.
The Giro x Fender goggles combine the iconic rock ‘n roll style of Fender guitars and amps, with the function of Giro’s ski goggle technology. Finally, rock-star fashion has an element of function.
Giro x Fender Goggles: Shred the Slopes Like a Rockstar
According to Fender, the limited-edition Fender x Giro goggles “reference the music that has inspired countless days in the mountains over the last several decades.”
The company added, “With aesthetics that echo surf-rock culture, psychedelic rock and heavy metal, the Giro x Fender Collection takes styling and color cues from classic Fender guitars, amps and cases. Including Tweed, the classic Sunburst finish, and Seafoam Green.”
Truly, music and skiing do go hand in hand. Most ski films are defined by the soundtracks they feature. Ski bars and on-mountain lodges are always cranking the same kind of slope-side tunes. Après parties often feature live bands or DJs. And there’s always that one guy blasting his speakers in the lift line (whether people want to listen to it or not).
So, it seemed only natural for these two companies to join forces. It’s a unique collaboration. But it’s one that comes with big style points.
Giro x Fender Goggle Details
“Each goggle carries the inspiration of Fender culture and design. Be it through our legendary color palette and iconic accessory footprints,” Josh Reid, Giro’s snow brand manager, said. “A tweed guitar strap, for example, makes up the basis for one of the elastic bands in the goggles. It’s this attention to detail that makes this partnership remarkable.”
The Giro x Fender goggles are coming out of the gate in three styles: the Contour, the Axis, and the Method (in two colors). All of them are frameless and designed with Giro’s expansion view technology (EVX). They all come with two swappable magnetic Zeiss lenses (for low-light and high-light days), EVAK vent technology, and an anti-fog coating.
Rock on.
