Fast and Steep: ‘Hoji’ Goes for Broke in the Esplanade Mountains

Eric ‘Hoji’ Hjorleifson takes the direct line in the Canadian Rockies.

Hoji wastes no time getting downhill in this new clip shot by Peter Wojnar and BLANK Collective Films. Watch Hoji rip through the backcountry, hardly making a turn while he hucks cliffs and out-skis slides.

The quick film captures two impressive runs — physical, punishing, and fast. If you like headbanger-style GoPro footage on pillow lines through the trees, you’re in business.

Watching him drop hundreds of feet of near-vertical terrain from a safe distance isn’t bad, either. If you’re surprised Hoji can still stand up at the end of it all, well, so is he.

“My legs still work!” he commented.
