Happy feet mean you can ski or ride longer. Wigwam’s new ski/snowboard-oriented socks feature a wool blend and seamless toe closures tailored to different users.
The Snow Glade Pro socks, as the first example, are designed with a cushioned shin and thicker sole for extra comfort in a ski boot. The company uses polyester, nylon, wool and spandex to make the hybrid sock. It is topped off with an odor-eschewing treatment.
A second option, the Snow Peak Pro, is made with a high portion of an acrylic fiber that the company says absorbs moisture. It’s for skiers or boarders who don’t want the cushion of the Glade Pro but want anti-bacterial and anti-mold (read: anti-stench) properties.
Wigwam’s Snow Cat Trax socks are designed for “the ideal boot fit.” They have a stay-put leg and top, according to the company. This keeps it from slouching toward the toe. They have extra support around the mid-foot and ankle to ensure a form-fitting shape.
The Snow Glade Pro, Snow Peak Pro and Snow Cat Trax are available for $18 and up. www.wigwam.com
