We don’t often write about women’s undergarments on Gear Junkie. But a new company, The KN Group LLC of Carpinteria, Calif., had a product line at the Interbike Expo last month that caught our eye. Indeed, the stylish, sexy MOVMODA collection of performance “base layers” that the company displayed appear to be regular, good-looking lingerie. But the shorts, bras, and unisuits are in fact performance pieces made to wear while bike commuting or during other activity.
A company tagline talks about catering to active women who want great style and comfort. Says company President Kerry Mann, “We wanted to create a product that evokes sensuality and blends key ingredients: a dash of sex appeal, a flirty touch and a lot of comfort.”
This is accomplished with cuts that allow for movement, support and comfort while maintaining a stylish look. A special Italian-made nylon/Lycra fabric is used that’s touted to be form-fitting, moisture wicking, UV-protective, and quick drying. The MOVMODA “performance lingerie” collection will be available in stores for January 2011 at about $50 to $100 depending on the piece.
