Wes is an experienced outdoorsman and writer who turned his lifelong passion for hunting and fishing into a career. Raised in northeast Oklahoma, he grew up spending countless mornings in duck blinds, deer stands, and on fishing trips, eventually earning a degree in wildlife management. His professional journey began with an outdoor media internship at CampusWaterfowl, where he significantly grew the brand’s presence on social media, attracting the attention of notable outdoor companies like Cabela’s, Mossberg, and Ducks Unlimited. Today, Wes shares his expertise by writing about outdoor adventures, gear reviews, and trip planning, while continuing the tradition by introducing his family to the joys of hunting, fishing, and camping.

Experience
Wes grew up hunting and fishing with his dad in northeast Oklahoma. He fondly remembers mornings spent in duck blinds, deer stands with his dad, and fishing with his family. In college, he chose to pursue a degree in wildlife management because the classes took him out of the classroom and into the field (he never considered writing a career option).
During that time, he landed an outdoor media internship with CampusWaterfowl, where he was encouraged to learn to write and manage the growing brand’s social media with several other interns. He helped take the waterfowl hunting brand from nonexistent to well over 60,000 followers on Instagram alone, gaining the attention of Cabela’s, Mossberg (where he was first published), and Ducks Unlimited (which currently owns CampusWaterfowl).
Today, he loves introducing his wife and kids to the outdoors to create as many cherished memories as his parents did with him and his brother. When he’s not fishing, hunting, or camping, he writes about his adventures, the gear he uses, and plans for the next trip.
