Levi’s Commuter 511

They look like regular denim jeans. But Levi’s added a water-resistant and dirt repellent finish to the fabric as well as reflective tape on the interior cuffs. Roll up an ankle to expose the light-affected fabric strips, which help keep you visible to cars at night.

I like the fit and appearance of the 511 jeans because they don’t exude any cycling vibe. But on the bike they are also not that different from just pedaling in regular Levi’s jeans.

But at $88 the 511s are half the price of some pants here, and they will last. I have a pair of similar Levi’s Commuter jeans from 2012. A hole finally appeared in the denim after a couple years of wear and much abuse, both on and off the bike.
