Endurance mountain biker Payson McElveen’s career isn’t typical, but it is notable. The mustachioed Durango resident has a host of plaudits to his name — including two Leadville 100 podiums — but he’s also interested in weird, off-beat distance events and adventures. To wit: after crossing Iceland in 19 hours and change in 2021, the cyclist decided he wanted to tackle similar crossings worldwide.

Next up: Tasmania.

Luckily for you and me, McElveen made a film about his adventure. Red Bull just dropped it; you can check it out on the Red Bull TV website. And it’s everything you’d want it to be: gritty, grueling, and beautiful. And at only 20 minutes long, you can watch it on your lunch break.

Or, you know, while you’re clocked in. It’s Friday, after all. Weekend shred prep has begun.
