A boater battles the current in the Steep Creek Championships

Top kayakers from around the globe battled class V rapids in a crushing Rocky Mountain creek to kick off the GoPro Mountain Games.

The Steep Creek Championships were just the first event of a four-day onslaught of outdoors adrenaline in Vail. It’s impossible to say which event our crew is most excited for, with mountain biking, bouldering world cup events, mountain running, dock dogs jumping competitions, and the Slacklining World Championship… all in the mix over the next 72 hours.

We’ve got a full day of coverage tomorrow, highlighted with two half-hour live broadcasts streaming here at 11:00 a.m. MDT and 3:00 p.m. MDT.

We’ll be going behind the scenes with top athletes, taking an inside look at some of our favorite new gear and trying not to fall off the roof of our beastly broadcast setup atop the Gerber Gear Black Boar.
