ClimbMuz brings together Muslim women from diverse backgrounds to climb in a ‘safe space.’ It joins a growing list of groups focused on improving inclusion in outdoor sports.

Though she loves climbing, Siddrah Aslam got tired of not seeing anyone like her in the climbing gym.

So she started ClimbMuz to get more Muslim women roping up — while surrounded by supportive peers from countries around the world.

“I want to see as many women access climbing as possible,” Aslam says in a short documentary from Huck.

The group receives support from adidas Five Ten, which enabled ClimbMuz to cover gym entrance fees for climbers and a closed-door “modesty” session, Huck reported. It joins other Muslim-focused outdoor groups like Muslim Hikers and Wanderlust Women.
