If you’re a fan of nice wristwatches, you’re well aware that it can be a rather expensive interest. But thanks to an extended Black Friday season that now lasts a couple of weeks, good but affordable watches are significantly discounted by a lot of retailers online.
I spent a couple of hours chasing down the best deals I could find to save you a little time. Check these out if you’re in the market or want to get a nice gift for a loved one.
The Best Black Friday Watch Sales to Shop
OK, technically, this deal is not for Black Friday. That’s because REI’s 25% off Garmin sale fits in the brand’s Gear Up Get Out sale. But it’s a great sale going on until Nov. 27, so call it what you will.
Among the deals, which go well beyond watches, I love the fenix 7S Pro Solar Edition. It strikes a balance of price and functionality, doing literally everything a sports watch can do. Grab one, wrap up your shopping early, and, as REI puts it, Opt Outside!Shop Garmin 7S Pro Solar
Here’s a shop we don’t look at very often at GearJunkie: Macy’s. But holy cow, the mega-retailer has a lot of watches on sale for Black Friday! While a ton of brands are on sale, let’s focus on a singular niche: the Seiko Prospex.
Seiko’s Prospex line of watches is one of the best values on automatic watches. They have some seriously legit performance, such as 200m water resistance, quality movements like the Caliber 4R35, and usually about a 41-hour power reserve. Even watch snobs respect the quality of Seiko manufacturing, especially for reasonable prices.
Now, most of the deep inventory of Seiko Prospex dive watches at Macy’s is on sale for 25% off.
Which one to choose? Well, I love the SRPJ93, pictured above. But there are more than 200 models on sale, so check them out and find your favorite.Shop Seiko Sale
Luminox makes some rugged yet beautiful timepieces. The brand focuses on watches capable of military, mountaineering, field, or ocean use. But it also carries some lovely aesthetics through its functionality.
This week, a slew of Luminox watches are on sale right on its website. Of the 20 models on discount, I love the Navy Seal Steel 45mm Dive Watch, which is now 40% off. That’ll save savvy buyers almost $300! Check it out.Shop Luminox Sale
When it comes to rugged watches, G-Shock sets the bar. These things can take any beating you’re likely to hand out, at least to something that’s attached to your body. And starting Friday, the brand has some really solid deals — like half off some models.
You can hop over and preorder now, or check back through the week to see if other models go on sale.Shop G-Shock Sale
The Timex Expedition line has been around for a long time. How do I know this? Well, I definitely wore one for about a year straight while living in Central America to attend college as an exchange student in the ’90s. And what it did well then — run with consistent accuracy even while getting beaten around and worn in salt water — it will still do great today.
This week, you can save 30% on a bunch of models from the ubiquitous brand. Grab a near-clone of my personal ’90s model (pictured above) and be as cool as a 22-year-old exchange student with mediocre but improving Spanish skills.Shop Timex Sale
Marathon builds tough, military-inspired dive and field watches that look great and can handle real-world abuse. Right now, pretty much everything the brand has in stock is on sale.
Among the sale items is the 41mm Arctic Edition Large Diver’s Automatic (GSAR). This Government Search and Rescue watch is water-resistant to 300 m, rocks a handsome stainless steel bracelet, and has a Sellita SW200 with Incabloc Shock Absorber movement.
Normally retailing for $1,800, you can save a healthy $360 during the sale.Shop Marathon Watches
