The Best Time to Buy a Watch Is Now: Black Friday Deals Worth Shopping

If you’re a fan of nice wristwatches, you’re well aware that it can be a rather expensive interest. But thanks to an extended Black Friday season that now lasts a couple of weeks, good but affordable watches are significantly discounted by a lot of retailers online.

Garmin on Sale

OK, technically, this deal is not for Black Friday. That’s because REI’s 25% off Garmin sale fits in the brand’s Gear Up Get Out sale. But it’s a great sale going on until Nov. 27, so call it what you will.

Among the deals, which go well beyond watches, I love the fenix 7S Pro Solar Edition. It strikes a balance of price and functionality, doing literally everything a sports watch can do. Grab one, wrap up your shopping early, and, as REI puts it, Opt Outside!

Seiko Black Friday Sale

Here’s a shop we don’t look at very often at GearJunkie: Macy’s. But holy cow, the mega-retailer has a lot of watches on sale for Black Friday! While a ton of brands are on sale, let’s focus on a singular niche: the Seiko Prospex.

Seiko’s Prospex line of watches is one of the best values on automatic watches. They have some seriously legit performance, such as 200m water resistance, quality movements like the Caliber 4R35, and usually about a 41-hour power reserve. Even watch snobs respect the quality of Seiko manufacturing, especially for reasonable prices.

Now, most of the deep inventory of Seiko Prospex dive watches at Macy’s is on sale for 25% off.

The Timex Expedition line has been around for a long time. How do I know this? Well, I definitely wore one for about a year straight while living in Central America to attend college as an exchange student in the ’90s. And what it did well then — run with consistent accuracy even while getting beaten around and worn in salt water — it will still do great today.
