Mindful Bargains: 5 Women-Led Wednesday Deals Too Good to Ignore

The coalition of brands known as Women-Led Wednesday isn’t just mindful shopping. These are some darned nice brands offering great prices.

The growing Women-Led Wednesday movement first launched in 2018. It offers the chance to buy discounted gear from companies led by women entrepreneurs. Like Black Friday, it’s technically focused on a single day — Wednesday, Nov. 27. But also like Black Friday, the deals are often available both before and after the actual date, so be sure to check out these brands’ discounts even if you arrive a bit late.

Women-Led Wednesday now includes hundreds of businesses, but it’s about more than just cheap products, according to Cassie Abel, the founder of Women-Led Wednesday and apparel brand Wild Rye.

Abel said in a statement that in a time when “our political landscape is shifting and the voices of women continue to be sidelined,” it’s more important than ever for consumers to make conscious choices.

She also referenced recent victories, like an equal number of men and women competing in the Olympics for the first time and the first women to brave the intense downhill biking competition Red Bull Rampage.

“Supporting female entrepreneurs is a way to reclaim agency and ensure that women can continue fighting for the platforms and opportunities they deserve,” Abel said. “We hope that consumers feel motivated to make intentional purchasing decisions that actively contribute to a more equitable and inclusive marketplace.”
