Like Patagonia and the North Face, Snow Peak began with a single dedicated climber and expanded into a renowned international brand.
Snow Peak founder Yukio Yamai created the brand upon returning to Sanjo, Japan, after World War II. He found himself enthralled by the mountains. In lieu of widely available climbing gear, Yamai began crafting his own.
Now, Snow Peak crafts a broad range of apparel, fishing gear, and camping equipment. And more than 60 years after its founding, the brand is still owned by the Yamai family.

Takibi Tarp Hexa Set
Every Snow Peak product labeled “Takibi” is meant to be used around the campfire. The Takibi Tarp Hexa ($412 on sale) is a large portable shelter made from flame-resistant aramid fibers. Unlike most tarps, you won’t have to worry about a single spark burning it to the ground.
At 15.6 feet long and 13.7 feet wide, the Hexa has plenty of capacity for four people. When group camping, it provides reliable protection against UV rays, wind, and precipitation. Durable aluminum wing poles and a carrying case are included.

Renewed Single Action Table
This collapsible bamboo table ($341 on sale) can host up to six people for a lively outdoor dinner. At 28.6 pounds, it isn’t exactly lightweight, but it’s an excellent option for backyard evenings or group car camping. The laminated woodgrain surface looks and feels classier than an average camp table, and the aluminum legs offer stability and durability.
For easy storage, the table folds in half and fits into the included nylon carrying case.
