If you are a fast runner who didn’t manage to secure a spot at the 2025 Western States 100, here is a chance at a unique pacing gig that might more than make up for the lottery disappointment.

Kilian Jornet is seeking a member of the public to pace him for a 20-mile stint at the historic race. Perks of the job include full NNormal kit and shoes and a two-night stay at the race, from June 27 to 29.

Hopefuls can apply through the NNormal portal, and you will need to add your Strava profile and details of your two best race results. Applicants must be over 18.

Jornet’s much-anticipated return to Western States comes 15 years after he made his U.S. racing debut there in 2010 at just 22 years old. He took third behind Geoff Roes and Anton Krupicka before returning to take the win the following year.

Although the names and faces of ultrarunning changed beyond recognition in the years that have passed since Jornet’s last outing, he remains at the pinnacle of the sport, seemingly untouchable by time.
