On the surface, Mirna Valerio does not fit the ‘trail runner’ archetype. But her actions speak much more loudly than the naysayers.
This film from REI reinforces that it’s plain dumb to judge a person by their appearance. Valerio inspires with her actions, running 50K after 50K in her pursuit to conquer the brutal TransRockies Run, a 120-mile stage race across the Rocky Mountains of Colorado (which she later completed in 43 hours 19 minutes, 2.4 seconds).
