Every year, in Glaucestershire, England, thousands of people turn out to watch others sprint down the steep Cooper Hill in pursuit of a run away log of cheese.
For real. They do this. For honor. For glory. For the cheese.
Apparently, the “winner” of this event gets to keep the dirty cheese wheel. Last I checked, a cheese wheel costs about $20. A torn menisucs, on the other hand, will cost you several grand and a life of crunchy-knee (I know this one first hand).
So, I guess they’ve done the math, ’cause these folks really commit! Also, there seems to be a fair chance of being tackled by a rugby team.
