What’s better than getting a new reel that changes color with water temperatures? Knowing part of your purchases goes back to conservation, protecting our streams and wildlife for future generations.

Ross Reels and Coors have partnered again in 2026 to introduce a new limited-edition collection that includes the Coors Banquet Cimarron Creek reel, the Coors Banquet Airlite Aspire 905 Fly Rod, and the Coors Light Cimarron LT reel. And this year, the partnership brings a first-of-its-kind innovation to the market.

The Ross x Coors collab has three new items for 2026, most notably the industry-first, color-changing Coors Light Cimarron LT. The reel is made with a patent-pending ThermoChromic process that uses temperature-responsive pigments to shift the reel’s mountain graphic to blue when water temperature drops below 70 degrees. If it sounds familiar, it’s because Coors Light cans have done the same for years.

This is a visual cue for the angler to know when it will be harmful to fish for trout. This reel is built on the popular Cimarron LT platform, with lightweight performance and composite-disc drag.

The Coors Banquet Cimarron Creek reel headlines the collection, which is made in Montrose, Colo. It carries Ross’s patent-pending CERANO ceramic-based coating process to protect it from marks and marring while you’re out on the water or bushwacking to your next spot.

The collection also includes the Coors Banquet Airlite Aspire 905 fly rod. This rod looks like a quality all-around option, made for everyday trout fishing. It’s available in a single size offering of 9 feet and 5-weight.

It boasts versatility and balanced performance across a variety of water and fishing types. The rod includes a custom Coors Banquet combo rod case.

Embrace A Stream

Once again, Ross Reels and Coors will contribute up to a combined $100,000 to Trout Unlimited, marking the third year of the partnership and bringing total conservation support to up to $300,000 through Trout Unlimited’s Embrace A Stream program.

These funds directly support on-the-ground volunteer-led river restoration and protection efforts.

Who is this for?

This collection is for anyone with a pulse that loves fly fishing. And if you love Coors, well, that’s a bonus. Between the two reels, you have size options from 2 / 3 to 7 / 8, which will cover most fly anglers’ needs. The rod comes in the “all-arounder” size of 9’ and 5#.

Almost any fly angler will be able to find something that fits their fishing style from this lineup. Plus, you’re purchasing a unique piece of gear that only comes around once, and your purchase proceeds go to a good cause. What’s not to love?

Get It While You Can

The Ross x Coors collection is live now, with select models and sizes available via pre-order, followed by additional product releases rolling out through early 2026. The collection is available online and in select specialty fly shops.
