State Bicycle Co. announced today the addition of a performance-oriented carbon frameset to its line of reasonably priced bicycles. The Undefeated Carbon Disc Road Frame and Fork Set weighs 1,120 g in the middle of its sizing range and includes a fully carbon fork, steerer tube, and seat post.
State built the new frame out of T800, a middle-of-the-road carbon fiber in terms of strength and stiffness. The addition represents a slight departure for State Bicycle Co. The brand built its name on affordable single speeds and fixies with clean lines and steel frames. The company maintained that aesthetic with the Undefeated’s understated colorways: Metallic Flake/Prism and Pearl White/Tie-Dye.
“We are thrilled to bring an accessible top-off-the-line performance to the masses,” said Mehdi Farsi, co-founder of State Bicycle Co., in a press release. “Our team and staff, including myself, have been riding these as prototypes for about 3 years now. We hope this can take our more serious riders’ performance to the next level, without breaking the bank.”
Undefeated Carbon Disc Road Frameset Geometry
The new frameset uses 100 x 12 mm axle spacing in front and 142 x 12 mm in the rear. The frame has a max tire clearance of 30c. Here’s the rest of the geometry, per State.
The Undefeated Carbon Disc Road Frameset is available directly from State Bicycle Co. for $1,299 (in both colorways). It comes in seven sizes and ships to purchasers within one business day. State offers a 5-year warranty on all bicycle frames.
