From the inspiring to the tragic, ‘Adventure News of the Week’ presents a wrap-up of top news in the world of exploration and adventure.
CLIMB: Walltopia Builds World’s Tallest Climbing Wall in Copenhagen. The 80m outdoor wall is built on the outside of a power plant in Denmark. It has five routes of varying grades, each made of four 20m pitches.
CYCLING: Pearl Izumi partners with PeopleForBikes to launch ‘Tour of Inspiration’. For this tour, which begins July 2020, Ride Spot and PeopleForBikes, with the help of Pearl Izumi ambassadors, will choose and share the 21 best rides across the United States. A new round of routes will be revealed each Sunday on the Pearl Izumi blog. You can also find details of the tour on the Ride Spot app, a route-sharing platform.
RUN: 2 Ultrarunners Set Records on Colorado’s Nolan’s 14. Warm and dry weather in Colorado over the last couple of weeks gave two runners great windows to crush one of the toughest FKTs in the country.
Nolan’s 14 crosses 14 mountains over 14,000 feet tall. Joey Campanelli and Sarah Hansel ran the route faster than anyone this month.
