With his seminal work “A Sand County Almanac,” Aldo Leopold solidified his place in the pantheon of American nature writers. But what about the man behind the ideas?

“Serve the Land,” a new film from Savage Arms, takes a deep dive into Leopold’s personal history, shedding light on the human who would go on to inform so much of how we think about conservation. It feels similar to a Ken Burns film, making plenty of use of archival photos, interviews, and voiceovers. But unlike a Burns film, this will only take about 20 minutes of your time.

Don’t miss it! And after you finish, go pick up a copy of “Sand County Almanac.” It’s always worth a revisit.

Runtime: 21 minutes
