Time To Run (in the city!)… Announcing Salomon/GearJunkie ‘CITYTRAIL’ Race

As a part of its CITYTRAIL campaign launch this spring, Salomon is partnering with GearJunkie on a unique running event in Minneapolis. The Salomon/GearJunkie ‘CITYTRAIL’ Race, on Thursday, April 24th, will bring runners through Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood on a “choose-your-adventure” open course.

Based from GearJunkie.com HQ on Minneapolis’ Greenway Trail, checkpoints, route finding, and urban exploration are all a part of the fun. Participants will track their route and hit checkpoints on a 90-minute course.

The event is invite-only. Please send us a note if you’re interested in participating. It’s a FREE event, and Salomon and Suunto reps will be on site for participants who want to demo footwear, watches, and gear. Prizes include $2,000+ in Salomon and Suunto products and other swag!

Full details to come soon. For now, mark your calendar for April 24th. Start training for this unique urban race.

The race is 90 minutes in length, and expect 5 – 7 miles of running required to complete. We’ll then host an after party to celebrate spring in the city with a bonfire and good company under the urban sky.

(Beyond the GearJunkie race, Salomon will run another event on May 18th in Minneapolis, the CITYTRAIL Loppet. See all the details here on this second urban trail race!)

—The GearJunkie ‘CITYTRAIL’ Race is the first in a series of four “adventure run” events hosted by GearJunkie in Minneapolis this year on April 24 (Salomon event), May 29, June 26, and July 24. Mark off these dates and send us a note to be added to the list to stay updated as we head toward launch.
