Kept tightly under wraps until today, the Natural Selection Tour’s weeklong showdown at Baldface Lodge featured 14 of the world’s best all-mountain freestyle snowboarders. Watch it “live” today.

Stop two on Travis Rice’s Natural Selection Tour (NST) was a big one. One week of matchless boarding in British Columbia’s pristine backcountry went down between February 21 and 27, 2022. The NST crew worked hard to clamp down the details about the Baldface contest until its debut as a consolidated, 3.5-hour “live” presentation today.

The show starts at noon ET/9 a.m. PT. You can watch it live, on this page, below.

Riders compete on British Columbia’s Scary Cherry, which features 80 natural and wooden drops and sloping angles graded 40-plus-degrees. A freerider’s proving ground, the run shined in Red Bull’s Supernatural and Ultra Natural comps back in the day.

Announcement of the Baldface stop’s winners will follow the live presentation. The top-performing female and male each win a brand-new Ski-Doo. A replay of the event following initial streaming is available over at NaturalSelectionTour.com.

Rice and company kept things interesting for 2022, shifting to a triple crown-style series and playing with the format at each stop.

For this year’s Baldface run, they rolled out a new format that throws riders into head-to-head “Selection Sessions” during their “rest” days. The smaller sessions promise to keep the Tour stop on a rolling boil.

Participation in the Selection Sessions was exclusive to just the top eight men and four women from NST’s previous stop in Jackson Hole, plus the overall winners from NST 2021: Olympians Mark McMorris (CAN) and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (NZL). The Selection Sessions will be replayable on Instagram and YouTube following the formal contest’s premiere.

The top twelve Baldface performers, comprising eight men and four women, will then head to Alaska’s Tordrillo mountains for the third and final stop of this year’s big mountain freestyle snowboard tour. There, Rice will name the 2022 Natural Selection Tour’s overall winners.
