Burton Teases Massive ‘One World’ Snowboard Film

Burton’s new film looks to highlight a massive selection of snowboarders all in one film.

One World: A Film by Burton looks to be one of the biggest and most expansive wintersports films of the year. It will showcase the diverse skills of 39 riders over 72 days, just chasing snow.

“Whether you’ve been here all along or you’re dropping in for the first time, the bond of snowboarding spans the globe and connects us all,” Burton wrote.

And the film definitely focuses on that global connection. Now, with travel restrictions, even at resorts, Burton believes it’s more important to find a way to connect communities across the world:

“We are snowboarders committed to the fundamental values of our sport. We are innovators, influencers and explorers. [Our team] respects the power of our impact and are constantly striving to better this one world that we share. We are one world.”

But this isn’t your standard film reel. One of the cooler behind-the-scenes aspects of the film is Burton working with its partners, including Bank of the West, to offset carbon emissions as a byproduct of production (including emissions from travel).

The athletes even wore a new collection of kits made from recycled rPET Polartec fabric — made from used plastic bottles. The team also said it employed human power to access snow and build features as much as possible.

The “One World” official trailer went live today — watch online here. The full film will release on November 17 to stream on Amazon Prime. And today, Jan. 26, the full film is finally available for free on YouTube.

Burton riders featured in the film are Anna Gasser, Ben Ferguson, Brock Crouch, Christian Haller, Clemens Millauer, and Danny Davis. Other riders include Dave Downing, Jake Burton Carpenter, Kelly Clark, Kimmy Fasani, Liu Jiayu, Maria Thomsen, Mark McMorris, Niels Schack, and Patti Zhou.

Burton produced this film with the help of Mountain DewToyotaPolartec, and Bank of the West.
