You’ve been waiting and now Natural Selection is back, promising “the most exciting season in Tour history!”
The strongest competitors survive, strengthening a species’ genes. So goes Darwin’s law. That’s also the aim of the Natural Selection Tour. The competition is designed to showcase the riders’ unique styles and free-riding creativity. And to push the sport of snowboarding into new territory.
In February and March 2023, 24 of the world’s best riders will be competing on unpredictable terrain. The riders will be navigating the conditions and whatever else Mother Nature throws their way.
The Natural Selection Tour
This year, the Tour consists of three different stages.
The first: DUELS. This head-to-head competition pits 16 men and eight women against each other. Held at epic locations worldwide, 12 big mountain icons, Olympians, and professional riders will be competing against 12 other talented free-ride snowboarders.
Naturally, of those 24, only 12 will continue onto round two in Revelstoke. The surviving riders will compete in brackets, ripping up unique freestyle terrain in the Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing tenure, in British Columbia.
The same 12 riders will then move on to the competition’s super final near Valdez, Alaska.
“The Tour’s mission is to inspire people to forge a deeper relationship with the outdoors.” Travis Rice, the 2022 Natural Selection Tour men’s overall champion, told Revelstoke Resort. “The Tour continues to evolve in ways that put snowboarding and the natural wonder of being in the mountains front and center.”
Both the Revelstoke and Alaska competitions will be streaming live on the Natural Selection Tour channel. So, mark your calendars with the dates below and watch the sport of snowboarding evolve before your eyes.
