‘Kanken Me!’ If backpacks could talk, that’s apparently what this one would say.
With Fjallraven’s new program, you can fully customize its ever-popular Kanken backpack, right down to the webbing loops. Experiment and have fun. Color-coordinate or go crazy.
The program, called Kanken Me, allows you to customize every part of the pack. There are 14 color combinations, from a classy UN Blue to a bold, bright Flamingo Pink.
We got a sneak peek at the customization tool, possibilities, and a sample custom Kanken ahead of the launch. Here’s how it works and how to get yours.
Customize Your Kanken
Not everyone gets a chance to design their backpack from the ground up. But the Kanken Me custom program allows you to do this to the highest degree of style. I tested out the 3D digital design platform, and it’s pretty great.
The video below shows all the different parts of the backpack you can customize and how. (This includes the pack fabric, pockets, webbing straps, interior fabrics, buckles, zippers, and trim.) And, of course, it will show you the final look.
Starting on Oct. 18, Fjallraven’s Kanken Me program will be open to those in North America and Europe. (Check it out online today.) Because of the customization aspect, Fjallraven says Kanken Me orders take 4-8 weeks (keep that in mind if you’re making and giving one as a gift!)
