Reflective Visi-Hemp makes the Po Campo Ara backpack a true standout. Not only is the heavy-duty commuter pack peppered with reflective hits all over, but according to the brand, the Ara also marks the world’s first reflective hemp fabric.

The Ara is a 20L, PU-coated (waterproof) backpack with water-resistant zippers that fits up to a 17-inch laptop in its internal padded sleeve. Its bike commuter-specific features also include a clip point for rear light, ubiquitous reflective hits, a stashable helmet harness, dual exterior water bottle pockets, a quick side-access pocket to the main compartment, a hidden pocket for a passport or wallet, and a security strap to thwart grab-and-dash theft.

GearJunkie’s editor-in-chief has been cycling around multiple cities with the Po Campo Ara, and it became a tried-and-true favorite. Throughout the spring, summer, fall, and winter elements, even inclement commutes left no trace on daily necessities inside the pack.

The Ara has just enough organizational add-ons but doesn’t suffer from an overwhelming amount of extra pockets. A small, simple outer pocket worked great for quick-access items (phone, notepad, pens, and the like), while the main pocket kept electronics, cords, and larger items stowed safely in the main compartment. The retractable security strap probably won’t find as much use as every other feature, but it takes up virtually zero real estate and will add peace of mind for some.

Round all this out with the burly, reflective hemp construction, which is a major sustainability step in the right direction, and you have a daily go-anywhere bag you’ll soon feel naked without. Highly recommend!
