At 1.6 pounds, it’s not for the lightweight minimalists—but anyone looking for a stylish, functional, wool puffy flannel should check out the Brekinridge Parka.
Duluth Trading Co. Flapjack Flannel Jac – $65
Gone are the days of drooling over my boyfriend’s well-worn flannel jacket with an excess of deep pockets. Duluth Trading Co. finally made a women’s competitor, the Flapjack. With six pockets total, you can stash what you need and leave your purse behind. My favorite feature is the hidden glasses cleaner below the bottom button.
On the back, you’ll find two hidden vertical stretch panels to help you move comfortably, and two adjustable tabs that allow for a more feminine cut (if that’s your style). At $65, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better deal.
Shop Duluth Trading Co. FlannelOrvis Grand Tetons Flannel-and-Fleece Jacket – $109
We haven’t tested this one yet, but we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Partly because it looks great, with contrasting fabrics and old-school elbow patches. But mostly because it’s constructed of an unusual Seawool fabric, which is made from recycled oyster shells. To top it off, it’s coated with a DWR finish to withstand the elements and has cozy pockets that are plenty big enough to warm your hands and stash your phone.
