Watch new hosts of the Loam & Gravel Society’s web series hit the MTB trails of Vancouver Island with adaptive athletes.

Cyclists Karl Kroll and Rachael Sawyer try out Bowhead’s adaptive MTBs in a new vid from Old Man Mountain. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t go well.

When adaptive athletes Gene Wey and Dave Sagal use them on British Columbia’s famous bike trails, Kroll struggles to keep up.

“These guys are just cranking up the hill!” he says breathlessly. “I stopped for 2 seconds, and I can’t catch back up with them.”

Conversations in the latest episode range from hilarious (“You’re talking to a guy in a wheelchair — we don’t play it safe”) to heartfelt (“It’s almost a religious experience — like I’m gaining my life back”).

Take a ride to Cumberland, British Columbia, with the Loam & Gravel Society’s newest episode.
