Razik’s open lattice bikes are radically different – The exotic looking open lattice tubing of Razik’s bikes draws a lot of attention — they are perhaps the most outrageous frames ever built. The tubes are made up of three-dimensional trusses of carbon fiber and Kevlar strands, all wrapped by hand in the U.S. The ride gets smoothed out by the lattice structure, which makes vibrations travel a longer distance than a normal carbon layup does.
The brand touts it has frames built with the material at under 2 lbs, full bikes under 13lbs that are built and ready for sale today. But Razik’s claim is not just that they are among the world’s lightest, but also the smoothest, most efficient road bike on the planet. We were not able to get out for a test ride due to the bike’s extreme popularity. But next time we are in Salt Lake City, where the bikes are made by hand, a ride on these bikes will be at the top of our agenda. The company tells us that both hard tail and full suspension mountain bikes are also being developed.
