To keep the stoke going, London Surf Film Festival created a ‘lockdown’ film fest of seven independent films.
Film festivals and in-person film screenings are now off limits, but the London Surf Film Festival found a creative alternative. This week, it launches the Lockdown Surf Film Fest, which will highlight some of the world’s best surf films, each available to stream for free for a limited time.
The next film screening is Friday, April 3 at 1 p.m. Mountain Time, 3 p.m. Eastern. It features “Dirty Old Wedge,” filmed in Newport Beach, California. The trailer is above. Learn more and watch the films here.
“Along with a hastily assembled, motley crew from all corners of the surfing world, we’re stoked to present Lockdown Surf x Film Festival. #StayHome,” wrote London Surf.
The virtual film fest will include online screenings of each surf film, Q&A sessions, and “sofa surf sessions” — streamed surf workshops from their sofas to yours.
To start the stoke, you can now watch the trailers for all seven films. The fest organizers will announce each film screening the week of, and each will be available for 24 hours.
