Everest climber and all-around adventurer Erik Weihenmayer stars in ‘The Weight of Water,’ a film in which he takes on paddling the Grand Canyon.

Paddling the rushing whitewater of the Grand Canyon takes a lot of planning and skill. In this feature film, adventurer Erik Weihenmayer embarks down the Colorado River for a thrill of a lifetime.

Weihenmayer, who is blind, has accomplished a lot in life: He became the first blind person to climb Mt. Everest, founded the nonprofit No Barriers, and has now solo-paddled the Grand Canyon. He’s also a world-renowned speaker and athlete.

But this film isn’t about that. It’s about man versus whitewater, excitement for a challenge, and pure thrill. It’s the epitome of good storytelling, told through the eyes of someone who can’t see. You can find the recently released full film here.
