Last November, the Zambezi River on the Zambia/Zimbabwe border became home to the World Class Kayak Academy. This traveling school essentially lets its “students” explore the world, with kayaking as the focus.
With world-class coaches and a big team, they were able to use the Zambezi as one of the Academy’s first training grounds. Sound fun? On a river like the Zambezi, that’s a given. On top of all that fun, the students get to somehow stay in school and run some massive stout worldwide. Learn more about the private high school-turned-freestyle-kayaking haven online.
As the filmmaker notes, these kids are going to go far! And I, for one, wish I was still school-age so I could join them.
Check the beautiful montage of the next-gen of whitewater paddlers. The river itself, line choices, and editing are all top-notch.
