The aluminum riveted-together tube that is an Airstream travel trailer is iconic. For 2025, the company will add a shorter version to its latest model line, which is also the most off-grid-capable.
Airstream introduced the Trade Wind travel trailer in 2023, with the 25FB. This model line is designed for off-grid capability, both in terms of terrain and living systems. For 2025, it is introducing a shorter version of this capable lineup, the Trade Wind 23FB.
“For more than 90 years, Airstream has been driven to continuously improve and innovate our products while deepening our customer experience,” said Bob Wheeler, Airstream President and CEO. “Today, that means more flexibility in venturing beyond crowded campgrounds, new features for relaxing and recharging in luxury, and more ways of staying connected while traveling.”
2025 Trade Wind 23FB
Take the iconic Airstream look and add a 3-inch lift, all-terrain tires, and a host of off-grid luxury living capabilities, and you will get the 2025 Trade Wind 23B. This new model comes in at 23 feet, 11 inches long, which is 2 feet 3 inches shorter than the Trade Wind 25FB model.
The idea behind the Trade Wind travel trailers is to enable “… travelers to adventure farther and stay longer without the traditional hookups offered in campgrounds.” While campgrounds are where you’ll find most Airstream trailers, likely this one included, it’s nice to see one set up to enjoy in more remote locations.
Not only is this new travel trailer capable of off-pavement travel, but it’s also a great size for maneuvering while providing enough space for luxury living/camping. It is also a great weight (5,650 pounds) for a wide range of tow rigs.
Inside, you get a super livable floorplan with a full bathroom, including a shower, in the back of the camper. In the middle, you get a full kitchen with a three-burner stove, oven, sink, and fridge. You also get a dinette and wardrobe. In the front of the camper is a sectioned-off bedroom with a queen-size bed — which can alternately be configured with twin beds.
