The story of a world-class athlete can begin almost anywhere — depending on when they first feel their powers. For Adam Peterman, it started in high school. So that’s where this Humans of HOKA episode picks up.

Watch the first leg of the 27-year-old’s journey, from his first interest in running as a skinny teenager to his win at the 2022 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

It’s the first of three episodes that focus on Peterman. Along the way, you’ll find out how the Western States 100 champion has “learned how to stay humble and enjoy the process.”
