Hats, T-shirts, sports bras, chest bands, and now, ear buds: Add one more product to the growing “things that can measure heart rate” list.

The Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless Earbuds play music while measuring your heart rate and work with popular training apps like Strava, MapMyFitness, and RunKeeper.

According to Jabra, this next generation monitoring technology measures heart rate through your inner ear. The company claims “clinical-grade accuracy,” although we haven’t tested them yet.

The Sport Pulse buds work via Bluetooth and sync with any Bluetooth-capable device. It’s unclear if they will work with fitness watches, which are not addressed in Jabra’s literature. (We’ve had some connectivity problems using watches with other monitors and this one appears designed to work primarily with phones.)

An interesting bonus: Jabra’s SportLife App can coach your workout with real-time biometric feedback. This voice in your ears can administer a VO2-max test, an orthostatic heart-rate test, or a resting-heart-rate test.

We love options other than a sweaty chest strap. If you’re serious about your cardio training and listen to music while working out, these buds may be worth investigating. They are available now for $200.
