Kyle Dietz is a former professional mixed martial arts fighter. And now he’s becoming a trail runner.
This is the subject of a new movie by T.C. Worley, a Minneapolis filmmaker and GearJunkie contributor. Check out the teaser below.
Dietz made the switch from the crazy rockstar life of a fighter to the wildly contrasted life as an up-and-coming competitive mountain runner.
The film digs into his background, why and how he made the switch to running, and what motivates him to take on this unlikely new venture.
Sponsored by Fitsok and Outdoor Research, the film follows Dietz to Montana to race the RUT 50k at Big Sky in September, plus a visit to his home town.
The Film premiers in March in three cities:
— San Francisco – March 19th – SanFransisco Running Co.
— Seattle – March 22 – Seven Hills Running Shop
— Minneapolis – March 27 – TC Running Co.
“The point of the tour is mostly to bring the running community together for something fun,” Worley said. “It’s a short film, but something we think people will find inspirational.”
The film was edited by Nick Gumm with post audio work from Nicholas Christopulous. Nick Hillyard colored the film and Corey Kruse provided the critical footage from Kyle’s fighting days, which appear in the full edit.
