Few things will wreck a day on the water like being soaking wet and cold. Huk, traditionally known as a cool lifestyle brand with casual fishing apparel that’s both comfy and capable, is now making waves by seriously diving into performance fishing gear.

The brand’s new Pro Series Jacket and Bib definitely showcase this commitment. This setup promises protection, comfort, and reliability when you really need it.

GearJunkie gave a nod to Huk and the Pro Series at the 2024 ICAST. Listen, I briefly tried on this setup, and though it was oversized (because I’m small and female) and only worn for a bit of running around on the show floor, I can confirm it’s a rad set that feels built to handle harsh conditions.

Keep in mind this is only a first look, and we’ll update you all once we get it in the harsh conditions it was meant for.

This thing is thoughtfully designed and explicitly aimed at anglers who might be battling wind, water, and everything in between.

Initial Impressions

Best of ICAST 2024 HUK
HUK Pro Series Jacket & Bib

Look, we didn’t award this system with the award for Best Men’s Technical Gear at ICAST 2024 for nothing.

The reality is that a kit designed to withstand the weather nightmares of serious fishing also tends to come with far higher price tags than the Pro Series boasts. That alone is worth a nod, at the very least. The closest competitor, which is also a rad setup, hits the cash register at $200 higher for the full kit.

Once we get this setup into the real gnarly stuff, we’ll have a better grasp of whether or not it’s worth the investment, regardless of the cost savings. For now, it looks like it might just be one of the go-to getups for nasty spring and fall fishing going forward.
