ROAM ARC 270 Awning
This quick-deploy 270-degree awning offers an impressive 92 square feet of coverage around your vehicle. It also stows and travels in a relatively compact soft case, with a rigid backing plate.
In case the weather gets rowdy, the ARC 270 awning has nested legs inside the awning arms. These aluminum legs — made from recycled materials — fold down and telescope. Each has a pointed foot and a stake point for secure footing on any terrain.
Instead of using cheap paracord like most competitors, the ROAM ARC 270 has integrated webbing guy-lines with cinch buckles and metal staking loops at the end. Not only should this guy line system be super easy to set up — saving time — but it’s also super easy to adjust as weather conditions change.
ARC 270 Construction
The ARC 270 awning has a custom extruded aluminum back plate, from which everything is attached. The included vehicle mounting L-bracket also securely attaches to this back plate.
The awning is stowed inside a 1000D PVC soft case with a zipper closure.
The structure of the awning is made of lightweight aluminum poles, with a machined axle shaft pivot point. The pivot point also has bronze bushings for smooth, long-lasting operation and serviceability.
Pop-up riser arms — with a rubberized coating on the ends — neatly stow on each awning arm. These riser arms ensure that water doesn’t pool, the awning fabric stays taut, and that there’s a bit more headroom.
The awning itself is made of a “custom 4-layer water-resistant laminated ripstop sailcloth.” This material is both made from recycled materials and is recyclable at the end of the awning’s life.
Stowing this awning should be simple and secure with a three-buckle cinch closure strap system inside the case. These straps keep the awning secure against the backing plate when in transit, so as not to move around and wear out parts.
ARC 270 Accessories
Accessories are a big part of this awning system, with the main structure arms having two accessory tracks built in and an accessory perimeter flange around the outside edge of the awning. This flange includes a Velcro-lined edge and snaps, which will allow accessories to be added.
Accessories for this awning — walls, lighting, and overhead mesh storage to start with — will be available in early 2023.
