For 5 years, the most famed couloir in North America has been the ideal testing ground for the best skiers and snowboarders to push the limits of their sports.
The tricks shown here — from skiers like Jeff Leger and Caite Zeliff or snowboarders like Hans Mindnich — offer truly awe-inspiring moments. (Just wait until Mindnich skids down the cliff during a free fall.)
This year’s event runs from Feb. 4-11, but it won’t be livestreamed, according to the Jackson Hole website. The competition date will be announced by 5 p.m. the day before, to take advantage of ideal weather conditions. For those who can’t make the trip to Wyoming, a recap show will be available on Feb. 14.
