These local gyms and fitness centers are here to help you through the uncertainty of lockdowns and quarantines.

During the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak, it’s important to watch the news, self-isolate, and stock up on essentials. But it’s also important to de-stress.

For lots of us, that means exercising, giving ourselves distractions, and keeping up with our physical and mental health. So what can you do when you can’t leave your house or go to a gym? Here are five programs you can try from home. (All the classes listed are online and free.)

Livestream Workouts

Planet Fitness Live Work-Ins

National gym chain Planet Fitness is offering free and virtual classes for people who are stuck at home. The new and free series will offer a variety of 20-minute fitness classes and workout routines through livestream and online.

Find out more about the work-ins programming here. The first class will go live today.

YMCA Live Workouts

Dozens of YMCAs around the country are providing virtual classes, covering everything from cycling, mind and body fitness, and kids’ fitness. The YMCA is hosting programs in four different virtual “studios,” so there’s something for everyone.

Programs will differ slightly based on region. Find more info here, or check out the virtual classes here.

The Bar Method

The Bar Method is a fitness studio that specializes in bodyweight workouts. Due to social distancing, the studio is offering livestreamed classes so you can follow along at home.

Workouts run from 15 to 60 minutes and include warmups, upper body, seated and standing exercises, and more. Get 14 days of free classes now.

Livestream Yoga

Spirit of the Lake Yoga

Based in Minnesota, Spirit of the Lake is now offering dozens of free weekly yoga classes as often as three times a day. The virtual classes are free and accessible on computers and mobile devices. Check out class info here.

The Cycling Yogi

Located in Colorado, the Cycling Yogi studio offers yoga, strength, and barre-hybrid classes that address strength and flexibility. More info on the studio’s virtual classes will be posted here soon.

If you can’t get online or make it to any of these “virtual” classes, try your hand at creating your own yoga flow at home.
