In a big step for the brand, Faction is putting more effort into featuring women in freeride skiing with its latest contest.

This spring, Faction Skis is on the hunt for more freeskiers. Specifically, female freeskiers — and if that’s you, they want you on the Faction team. To help with that, the ski brand is launching a women’s-only film-edit competition, BE THE NEXT X.

“We are inviting the lady rippers out there to collect their best clips and create a 60-second video showcasing their talent and style in freeride, freestyle, park, or backcountry skiing,” Faction wrote.

That’s right: whether you prefer big-mountain lines or hitting rails in the park, Faction wants to see what you’ve got.

‘Be the Next X’ Contest Details

As with any contest, there are a few rules. One, your submission has to be 60 seconds (no more, no exceptions). Two: the contest is open to those in the EU, U.S., U.K., Switzerland, Canada, Norway, and Japan.

Two winners will be chosen: a Judges’ Pick, chosen by a panel of Faction athletes, and a Fan Favorite, voted by the public. Who are the judges, you may ask? Big-name athletes like Sarah Hoefflin, Mathilde Gremaud, Eileen Gu, and more.

If you ski, trust us, you don’t want to miss this. Prizes include skis for a year and an invite to participate in a Faction film shoot. The contest will close on March 31.
