Ski racers who spend time waiting for a starting slot in frigid temps (or those looking for a cozy outfit for lounging in the lodge) will appreciate this funky one-piece suit, designed in Vail, Colo.
The Jati is thick fleece (320 gr/m) made from cotton and polyester. It is low-tech, with no waterproof or Windstopper fabrics.
But the baggy suit is easy to put on over garments like skin suits and other race-day clothes before cold-weather starts.
The company’s youth line runs a spectrum of colors and sizes, and garments cost $110.
About 70 percent of Jati’s clothing is sold to youth, but adults are not left out — an adult one-piece ($110-$125) has an extra long zipper for easy entry and exit as well as zipper pockets to keep phones and wallets safe.
They look funny, no doubt. But when warmth is your concern aesthetics take second tier. No guarantees against baby jokes, however, while waiting to bash slalom gates.
