Heart of the Beast, only in theaters on Sept. 25, stars Brad Pitt as a retired Army Special Forces officer stranded with his elite combat dog deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Acclaimed filmmaker David Ayer (known for his direction of numerous gritty action hits like End of Watch, Fury, and The Beekeeper) explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend in a thrilling mix of survival, adventure, and heart.
When it comes to the hardships of a physically demanding production in adverse conditions, the bond between Pitt and his co-star, a German shepherd named Uber (Odin in the film), is obvious.
“He’s the most important piece to this story,” Pitt says about his four-legged co-star, “and it’s been a surprisingly special experience.”
Outdoor adventurers will enjoy the realistic wilderness survival scenarios in the film, including camping and hunting in the wild, surviving a plane crash, and escaping deadly Alaskan predators while fighting to return home.
