Leave your tarp and tent poles behind. A to-be-released shelter system called the Nube (pronounced new-bay) will work with any camping hammock to create what maker Sierra Madre Research touts is a “safe haven” for rest or sleep.
Its design protects from rain with a large, umbrella-like covering. Guy lines are designed to keep water from dripping inside.

Mesh covering zips closed all around a sleeper to keep insects away. Gear stows underneath in an off-the-ground stowage area capable of supporting 200 pounds.
A 13 feet long and 8.5 feet across, the Nube system covers a large area. It’s made of silicone-coated nylon and weighs a little more than 2 pounds when packed up.
When you’re done sleeping for the night, roll back the hammock and clip it in. The Nube converts to a large tarp to hang out and eat underneath.
