The Summit: Site Highlights

Zip Lining — No. 1 in the world in total mileage. 15 zip-line routes equal total length of 5.45 miles of cable strung through the trees.

Canopy Tours — Tree to tree tours on cables and bridges. “No. 1 in the world in total mileage” of off-the-ground routes. 48 canopy zip tours in all.

One of the world’s largest skate parks is on site

Mountain Biking — 36 miles of trails. Three jump courses. Three pump tracks. 50 total trails.

BMX “No. 2 in world for indoor/outdoor square footage of facilities,” the Scouts cite. Total BMX area: 273,672 square feet.

Skateboarding — “No. 2 in the world for outdoor square footage of facilities” at total skate area of 103,993 square feet.

Immense artificial rock-climbing area under construction

Rock Climbing — An artificial outdoor climbing area onsite has 125 belay stations, 100 bouldering routes, and 42 rappelling stations.

Rafting — The New River runs through the Summit property. It is one of the most popular rafting/kayaking rivers in America.

Beyond the action sports, Scouts can hike, camp, and paddle on the Summit’s wilderness property on West Virginia’s New River Gorge
