This 9-month-old clip from Reel Rock 18 captures the assumption of risk in the mountains. It focuses on the first ascent of “Suerte Integral,” a 3,500-foot 5.13a WI6+ M7 route on the southeast face of Jirishanca (20,095 feet).

Equally provocative is the climbing duo’s almost constant internal battle with acceptable objective risks.
